The Group

The Capri Group SRL
The Capri Group SRL, licensee of the brands ALCOTT and GUTTERIDGE, was founded in Naples, Italy, in 1988 as a family business by the entrepreneur Nunzio Colella and is today a strong but dynamic, always evolving, apparel company. It has more than 500 employees and 120 million Euro of turnover and 2,5 Million euro of shared capital.

With the Fast Fashion concept arising in the 1990’s, promoting the democratization of fashion, the Capri Group established itself on the Italian market as pioneer of this commercial philosophy developing entirely around its trade mark brand ALCOTT.

ALCOTT is the Italian high street brand leader in the Fast Fashion industry; managed today by Salvatore Colella, and acronyms for "all cotton", it is a brand that entirely changed the Italian retail scenario.

After the first ALCOTT one brand dealer was open and after the buyout and the renewal of GUTTERIDGE brand, the company started an important national development project which leaded to the opening of about 150 dealers, each one with an exhibition hall of 250 square meters.

The client is at the centre of their business model focused on innovation and flexibility.
So, their speed to meet market’s needs let's companies open to international markets (India, Saudi Arabia, Japan, Spain, Cyprus, Russia, Guadalupe, United Arab Emirates) and to start an expansion project successfully, capturing 16 markets with more than 150 dealers.

In 1998, with the acquisition of the historical Anglo Neapolitan brand GUTTERIDGE, the Capri Group put the sartorial trade mark under a massive rebranding process preserving their brand value which perfectly integrates with the Group values of integrity and heritage, and placing on the market a second retail chain for the Group under this name.

With ALCOTT and GUTTERIDGE, the Capri group established itself as continuity brand. The Group doesn't just commercialize apparel, it embodies a lifestyle caring for its customer all around and covering an impressive age range that goes from 15 to 60 years old.

ALCOTT, the young brand, it's aimed at people wishing to express themselves without spending a fortune. It's the brand that always gives you "Space for your Style" for both men and women.

GUTTERIDGE, the sartorial brand since 1878, on the other hand aims at a more grown up, professional client who’s interested in beautiful quality, tailored clothes and attention to details, without the bespoke prices.

Group's Vision
Results from the past and objectives of the future
Salvatore Colella, CEO says, "The period 2007-2010 it's been challenging, revolutionary and surely eventful for the Capri Group. The economic downturn, which struck the worldwide markets, didn't spare us either, hitting especially in 2008. However, we reacted strongly and, instead of downsizing, we expanded further enlarging our retail network and hitting new markets. The bet paid off by concentrating on direct retails: between 2009 and 2010 we opened 25 stores with a turnover increase of 25%. We're now aiming at 10.000 sqm showrooms and 100 million Euros of turnover by the end of 2013. In this context it’s been crucial the partnership with the Spanish retail chain 'El Corte Ingles' that will expand the ALCOTT network to over 70 corners within the next four years but also the franchising agreement with one of the leader Indian Groups"
