Autumn/Winter '13

The Hardy Amies Autumn Winter 2013 runway collection combines traditional tailoring craftsmanship with a modern aesthetic. Designed for today's gentleman, Hardy Amies presents a contemporary vantage point from the brand's roots in the home of sartorial elegance, Savile Row. Hardy Amies himself provided inspiration to the brand's Creative Director Claire Malcolm. Most exciting of all for Malcolm were husband and wife, Josef and Anni Albers, Bauhaus artists whom she pictured in this very British scenario. Referencing their fascination with line and squares, the idea of a Bauhaus tartan check was explored. This has been translated into woven wool for tailoring and accessories throughout the collection and is accentuated with an exploded check on cashmere overcoats and capes.

Spring/Summer '13

The Spring-Summer 2013 Hardy Amies collection draws on a narrative based on the lives of not only Sir Hardy Amies but also the photographers Cecil Beaton and Lee Miller and the parallels within their experiences. From pre-war glamour to wartime solemnity, followed by the 'New Reality' and later optimism with the 'Peacock' generation of the sixties, the collection reflects each period with English tailoring, military colours and luxe evening wear.

The fitted grey suit is the centerpiece of Creative Director Claire Malcolm's Autumn-Winter 2012-13 collection. Focusing on a single colour, Malcolm draws attention to the architecture, proportions and textures of the garments. Shiny nickel toe capped shoes by Mr. Hare and lattice printed luggage by Globe Trotter provide accents of 1930s 'Deco-Tron' glamour. The collection made its debut in Florence at the 2012 biannual Pitti Uomo Menswear fair.

Spring/Summer '12

The Spring-Summer 2012 Collection is inspired by the faded Byzantine opulence and romantic renaissance of Venice. Creative Director, Claire Malcolm brings international glamour and sartorial spin to the eponymous founder's quintessentially English tailoring. Highlights from the collection include elegant evening jackets in hedonistic fabrics, and unstructured blazers that fit like shirts. SS12 also marks the launch of a range of sunglasses.

Autumn/Winter '11

The Autumn-Winter 2011 collection takes its inspiration from the period in Sir Hardy's life when we was a prominent figure on the European society circuit; the 1930s. In her first collection for Hardy Amies, Creative Director Claire Malcolm combines luxurious fabrics with a casual range of garments. The duck-down gilets, checked shirts and two-tone blue leather lace up boots, a collaboration with heritage brand Edward Green, are ideal for Alpine jaunts. The sharp double-breasted wool cashmere suits and peak lapel coats in stony Parisian blues and smoky London greys are at the smarter end of the scale.
