amfAR and Life Ball 2013: Roberto Cavalli stages a show of love for life
Roberto Cavalli incorporates Cannes and Vienna, showing his style and his commitment to the amfAR and Life Ball events - creating his own meaningful May 2013 dedicated to important charitable causes. Fashion meets with passion and love for life, glamour as a calling and the support to find a cure to defeat Aids. In Cannes on the 23rd of May with the amfAR evening: a gala dinner was sponsored by Roberto Cavalli.
During the gala dinner, a series of one-of-a-kind pieces inspired by the “gold” theme - recently presented at the Salone Internazionale del Mobile in Milan - was donated and auctioned directly by Roberto and Eva Cavalli in favor of the Foundation for AIDS Research. Among their guests were close friends and international celebrities. The fashion house also donated the setting and scenography: 90 tables for 900 guests was set up featuring items of the Roberto Cavalli Home collection.
Continuing in Vienna with a major fashion show event on the evening of the 25th and featuring an unprecedented anthology of pieces, Roberto Cavalli was the star and supporter of Life Ball. The charity fund-raising event, dedicated to the fight against Aids, featured as prominent part of this edition a runway set in the Municipal Place in Vienna. A spectacular setting where the designer displayed some of his most iconic creations as well as pieces from the latest collection: a crossroads between solidarity and tolerance.
A fashion show was held, interpreting Life Ball, the most important charity event in Europe, dedicated to the fight against Aids. That year the eccentric Viennese event was inspired by the “1001 nights” theme. In 2012, Bill Clinton was the special guest and Vogue Italy was the main promoter, gathering a long list of actors and celebrities as well as an incredible number of participants.
