2011 Oscar of the Design: "Honourable Mention" Assigned To Lotto Zhero Evolution Due
The Lotto Zhero Evolution Due model (Fall/Winter 2008 collection) was assigned the "Honourable Mention" during the award ceremony which took place in July 2011 in Rome. The ADI Compasso d'Oro Award is universally regarded as the supreme accolade for originality, excellence and achievement in industrial design. For more than fifty years it has played a major role in promoting Italian design worldwide. The award was created in 1954 by the La Rinascente department store in Milan to encourage "product aesthetics" and boost Italy's nascent "industrial design" sector. The award subsequently passed from la Rinascente to ADI Associazione per il Disegno Industriale, a voluntary association whose activities are financed by its own members. ADI is responsible for organising the award, which is held every three years. Products are selected by the Permanent Design Observatory, which jointly produce the annual ADI Design Index of best design products in Italy. An international jury confers Compasso d'Oro awards every three years on the basis of the ADI Index listings. Each year more than 150 design experts help ADI to shortlist products. Since 1954 more than 30,000 items have been examined, 359 Compasso d'Oro Awards have been presented and around 1,900 products have received special mentions.
2004: Instant ADV during Euro 2004
A great goal of Lotto with the instant advertising on "La Gazzetta dello Sport" (Italy's number one sports newspaper) in which the feet of some players using Lotto boots (Camoranesi, Fiore, Couto and Seedorf) publicly expressed their solidarity with few "colleagues" which were somehow less lucky. This advertising campaign was awarded the "Press Key Awards" in 2005.
