Kahori Markis Flowers for Fornarina’s SS 2013

The combination of art and fashion that has been a trademark of Fornarina fashion for years, finds its expression once again for Spring/Summer 2013 in a special project with Japanese illustration artist Kahori Maki.

The artist’s sophisticated and gothic touch describes lush botanical patterns to bring dresses, tops and shoes to life in an explosion of purple and violet orchids.

Bright coral, indigo and violet are stylized into beautiful tropical flowers or water-coloured in the background. Thus, they epitomize the brand’s female imagery, and leave their mark on the Advertisement campaign with a maxi t-shirt, leggings and décolleté. Moreover, they were selected as set for the Spring/Summer 2013 “New Arrivals” window, which was available from February in the main Fornarina stores.

Ethereal creatures in chiaroscuro stem from the sophisticated hand of Japanese artist Kahori Maki, like dreamlike visions that capture the eye discreetly. Kahori was born in Japan in 1969 and graduated from the Japan University Art Department in 1992. Then, she set off for New York, where she refined her style by taking Fine Art at the Art Students League. Her talent won Kahori Maki success and joint projects with international brands and magazines, including Elle and Vogue Japan. The new Fornarina Venuses are clad in sophisticated dresses, to introduce a vital and lush summer.
