1947:
The company was founded in the medieval town of Montegranaro (Ascoli Piceno), an epicenter of fine shoe making. Cousins Luigi e Dino Guardiani open a artisan laboratory specializing in classic, quality shoes for men.
1972:
Alberto Guardiani at age twenty took over the running of the company upon the loss of his father Dino, holding true to family values while creating shoes ever in sync with the latest styles, the up and coming trends.
1980’s:
The new company direction, the launch of the Alberto Guardiani brand internationally, thus involving the sales aspect as well as the style factor. In particular, those were the years when the company embarked on a major expansion process by entering into new markets around the world. The first Alberto Guardiani advertising campaign was also launched and the Company has kept investing in communication. Leading fashion photographers have made a significant contribution to defining the brand image, to presenting the Guardiani personality and style with utmost precision. So heightening the world renown and prestige of the brand.
Early 1990’s:
Collaboration with notable fashion brands Jill Sander, Verri, Byblos and Gianfranco Ferre in producing their footwear. The collaborations continued successfully for 13 years. The Company also opened its first Milan-based showroom to receive its international clientele.
1995:
The first flagship store opened in Naples, in the heart of the local luxury shopping district. This set in motion the relentless expansion of an exclusive Alberto Guardiani retail network in major cities worldwide. After Naples came Milan and Rome. From there the brand set sights on store openings in Eastern Europe with success.
1998:
The Company moved into a larger, more productive factory and headquarters, allowing for a significant increase in production, sales, marketing and administrative capabilities.
1999:
The first Alberto Guardiani Woman’s collection was created.
2003-2008:
Alberto Guardiani launched the new Guardiani Sport line for men, women and children, a line focused primarily on high-quality Italian made sneakers. The success of this line is quick growing, allowing the Company to solidly grow on all fronts. Alberto Guardiani opens its first showroom in Rome in Piazza Farnese and a new, larger showroom in Milan.
2008-2012:
Two new store openings for Alberto Guardiani and Guardiani sport in Capri, as well as a much larger showroom in Corso Venezia have allowed the Company to significantly expand its representation and sales network.
