Brilliant intuition, entrepreneurial spirit and dedication to work are the foundations for the success of an authentic Italian history. It all started from a hat, an essential accessory for the sophisticated male wardrobe, at least until the Fifties.

Back in 1934 the Fedeli family set up a workshop in Monza, a city characterized by a flourishing activity for felt hats.

In the immediate postwar period his son Nino, joined the company and was able to develop the brand internationally by widening the production and distribution of his pieces. An unexpected visit to a Swiss knitwear company keyed up the future of the business. Returning to Italy, he took up a new challenge and began importing new machinery to manufacture the special yarn. Before he knew it, he had started to manufacture the first cable stitches ever to be made in Italy. It was an overnight success.

Further the sixties saw the product innovation with the introduction of new machinery to manufacture garments in the noblest of yarns: cashmere.

Fedeli soon became the first Italian company to specialize in the production of cashmere knitwear, without changing his original philosophy surrounding this premium quality thread, and sticking hard and fast to the manufacturing guide lines which are still in place today, he ensured each Fedeli garment had that unequivocal touch and look of the hand-made.

In the 80s a new generation joined the inexhaustible Nino in the management of the business: his children Gigi and Maria Luisa, together with Fabio Conserva and Bruno Civati, have allowed the tradition represented by Fedeli to confirm its success entering the international market. The revolutions introduced by marketing, communication and globalist of the business have set the company into a highly competitive environment in which Fedeli is leader in the knitwear. While the fourth generation was ready to face new challenges with great commitment and enthusiasm, after over 70 years of history since its foundation, the style of the brand is responsible for their faithful clients.

The store, owned by Fedeli since 1946, is an important brand showcase and sits discreetly in the most elegant shopping street in Milan. Asides the store, the new Showroom was also renovated, to become a representative space covering 115 sq. meters. Echoing the design of the stores, this third floor showroom, extends the brand message, and houses both the men’s and the women’s collections.

From the Centre of Milan to the heart of Chelsea: on June 9th 2012, Fedeli opened his second lifestyle store, which stretches over 100 sq. meters. Fedeli Cashmere takes the creativity and excellence of the Made in Italy brand, to the UK, showcasing it to a distinguished and discerning British audience.
