Luigi Fedeli

Love for elegance and passion for the individual: these were the main principles that suggested Luigi Fedeli the idea of both a product and a brand that would influence the taste of the made in Italy along history. It was 1934 and in the leading city as for the manufacture of leather and felt goods, Monza, the company Fedeli established its roots, starting a business with the production of knitted hats, that were to become a real must in an extremely short time. Every head had its own hat. Luigi inaugurated the store in 1946, and it was a far-sighted choice. He named it “red & blue”, to avoid direct competition with other shops in Milan known for selling our products.

After the war years and the twisting of fashion, Luigi’s spirit and initiative joined his son Nino’s curiosity, thus becoming the strength that gave Fedeli productions a sense of continuity. Nino’s professionalism and attention took him to Switzerland, Scotland and England. Search for new innovations that could transform the traditional brand Fedeli into a pioneer of modernity in 1950s and 1960s. The new mechanical weavers for the fixing of the knitwear revolutionized and extended the production and Fedeli was the first brand in Italy to create what immediately proved to be a successful item: the plait patterned pullover. In the 80s, Nino’s children Gigi and Maria Luisa, together with Fabio Conserva and Bruno Civati, joined the business and have allowed the tradition represented by Fedeli to confirm its success entering the international market. Luigi handed over the business to his son and the next generation.
