Maria Camila Giraldo

Brand Ambassador
Brand - Pam & Gela

Never, ever stop believing in yourself

Maria Camila Giraldo is a Colombian actress, writer and entrepreneur mostly known for her leading role in The Queen of the South and The Queen of the Flow—two of the most successful Latin shows on Netflix. Her past modelling work includes campaigns for Adidas, Moschino, H&M, and Tiffany & Co. In an interview with Fibre2Fashion, Maria Camila reveals about her journey in glam world and shares her thoughts on social media presence.

Fibre2Fashion: How would you define yourself and your journey in glam world?

Maria Camila Giraldo:

Throughout my life, my style has remained very consistent: minimal, elegant with a touch of sexy irreverence.

F2F: Since you served as a host for MTV and as a model for renowned luxury brands, what attracted you to pursue acting?

MCG:

My career has actually been built on acting. Modelling and hosting came through that, which I love because it allows me to explore different talents.

F2F: How would you describe the emotion of your new role as brand ambassador of Pam & Gela?

MCG:

OMG! It’s been a dream come true. I’ve been coming to Los Angeles for the last five years and I’d always see the cool women wearing Pam & Gela looking so empowered and having all the eyes on them. Now to be the face of it, it’s pretty amazing, I’ve manifested it!

F2F: What are your favourite aspects of the brand?

MCG:

Its combination of chic and cool.

F2F: As a celebrity, how important is it to maintain social media presence and engage with the audience?

MCG:

Today, it has a lot of benefits because you’re in control of the story you tell about yourself and can have some fans who support you along the ups and downs of the life of an artist!

F2F: Tell me something about yourself that people don’t know?

MCG:

I know every song in the movie La La Land!

F2F: Can you share some style tips to slay basic day and some essentials that every woman should have in their wardrobe?

MCG:

I guess it depends on everyone’s style. I really like silky clothes that are comfy and flowy, a pair of cool sweatpants and a matching hoodie. I also love to throw on some cool prints to mix and match with all of the above. Why not!

F2F: What advice would you like to share with young aspirants trying to break into the world of glamour?

MCG:

Never, ever stop believing in yourself.
