Fibre2Fashion: Welcome to Fashion Talk Sir, Pierre Cardin is one of the most admired brands globally, from couture to accessories, perfumes to design, it has its mark in every segment of the industry. Please, tell us how did home fashion and diversification to interiors happened?

Pierre Cardin:

I always loved to be diversified. From 1954, I used a driving energy to develop my house, and to engage myself into my brand’s distribution. This desire of developing and making accessible my innovations to everyone pushed me to bring the license system and to diversify.

F2F: That’s great! Please, tell us something about Pierre Cardin’s Museum.

PC:

Pierre Cardin’s Museum in St-Ouen proposes on 2000m² my world…There are the most important of my innovations created since 1951; from the Bar suit to the Cosmocoprs, crossing my sculptural furniture to my accessories…

F2F: Pierre Cardin’s approach towards fashion & showcasing the same is always striking and different, be it 1991’s fashion show at Red Square in Moscow or 2007’s show at Gobi Dessert…. What is the idea behind it?

PC:

Indeed I’ve been a pioneer, among the entrepreneurs, being open to Asia  and the East before the fall of the Iron Curtain…I’ve been the first establishing myself in China…because ambitious; I wanted  to built very soon an Empire which stretch over the entire world…Curious and passionate, I am attracted by the world around me. Thanks to it, I engage myself strongly into the distribution’s politic of my brand…

F2F: Being a pioneer, Pierre Cardin couture has always been ahead of time, what is there that helps you envision future trends?

PC:

I am an avant-gardiste, the present doesn’t interest me…My destiny is tomorrow.

F2F: Very well said, with that would you like to share with us theme for this season’s collection?

PC:

Next coming collection “Art Mode” will be consecrated to my world of art’s perception around circle, cosmos, geometrical forms, science and the Universe.
