Lydia Pearson and Pamela Easton- Designers & Directors designed partnership
and commenced business on March 1989. First shown took place in Paris in
1998.
They know their customers, buyers and storeowners. They find themselves
often designing for people they know and admire. Equally essential to their
working method is their approach to fabric. In practical terms, they design
three ranges a year: Spring/Summer, Cruise
and Autumn/Winter for their brand Easton Pearson and little
sister line EP BY Easton Pearson. They produce one Take Away collection
a year.
Their interests are specific and eclectic. They design for people who are
drawn to similar ways of thinking. They design for women who are quite possibly
interested in art as much as fashion, who are interested in details and
in visual plays. They want women to take their garments and make them their
own. They don't stand away from trends but they interpret these trends a
little differently, a little idiosyncratically, a little privately based
on their own interests. The sensuality of fabric against skin is important
to them. They mainly use natural fibers, they are attentive to how the textures
feel, how the seams are finished, how the fasteners might be touched. They
believe in intimate attention to all aspects of the making process.
