He first embraced the idea of using environmental friendly technologies to create fashion forward pieces by designing the Solar Bag for the FW2008/2009 Collection. It is an accessory that combines fashion, technology and functionality thanks to the fine strips of mini-solar panels concealed in the lining. The bag comes with a selection of jacks that adapt to every brand of mobile phone, iPod and other digital accessories that make the CoSTUME NATIONAL Solar Bag a universal battery charger.

The Solar Bag was considered a huge step towards innovation and in September 2009 Ennio Capasa received the "Chi è chi Award" for best eco-friendly fashion product. Following this great achievement, the designer explores and uses new technology to revolutionize the eco-friendly fiber processing, especially cashmere bamboo. Ennio Capasa is also an active supporter of the Al Gore LENY projects.
