The universe of Ailanto is mainly visual, drawing its features from the combination of colors and geometry of the forms, and from the references on avant-garde artistic movements. The stress is on details and finishing and on the choice of noble materials that bring the necessary softness to counterbalance an industrial twist and an asserted ultra-modern aestheticism.

The twin brothers take inspiration from various things to create the unique collection that is popular throughout the world today. The inspiration for Ailanto's Spring/Summer 2013 collection at Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Madrid was the Italian architect Gio Ponti and the house he designed in 1956 for the Planchart family in the hills of Venezuela. The Autumn/Winter 2012-13 line was inspired by Chinoiserie, or the idea of using Chinese-influenced elements in European style.
