History La Perla
1954
The enduring tradition of hand crafted Bolognese corsetry has become the
hallmark of all La perla Products. The Designer Ada Masotti opens a corset
boutique in bologna with a promising name –La Perla.The name was inspired by
the jewel lined case with red velvet in which the first products were
delivered.
1960
After starting with traditional skin tones, La Perla introduces new colored
lingerie .Additionally; La Perla introduces a series of co-ordinates in pure
“B.B style” in woven, chequered and flowered prints with lace inserts and a
range of co-ordinates that match black lace bras with girdles of colored
flowers.
1971
After many years of success in the linger industry, La Perla is poised to enter
the world of swimwear fashion with the brands La Perla beach-wear, combining
charming aesthetics with a continued search for new designers and constant
inspiration from haute couture. In the same year, La Perla presents the first
triangle bra in a silk nightgown.
1978
After the feminist movements, lingerie reappears in great style showing off more
lace , silk and transparency . This year represents a fundamental time use of
elastic lace by la perla, in line with fashion of the times hat expects close
fitting clothing and natural shapes.
1980
By now, La Perla has become a large group specializing In difference areas of
lingerie and swimwear. This important know how allows La Perla to diversify.
The brand leader la perla is joined by Malizia, which covers the course of the
years begins to define its own identity, as well as the swimwear brand
Annaclub.
1983
La Perla launches the first wide shouldered body made entirely of elastic lace ,

La Perla perfume is born. The bottle, a winding shape that evokes the feminine

The first La Perla boutiques are opened situated at the heart of international
fashion to announce to the world the dreams of La Perla
1994
In the era of minimalism, La Perla launches sculpture the bra that introduced a
new concept to underwear that elegance is not only about an interpretation of
simple and harmonious styling realized in the smooth and soft weaves of the
fabric
1997
Collaborations with Italian photographer Marino Parisotto results in the
publication three photographic volumes portraying the new La pela styles, which
receives praises from the international publication world. “Senso” dedicated to
the world of corsetry “Tropico” dedicated to swimwear and “Swing” featuring La
Pperla’s world of fitness wear
2001
The launch of the bra “Brassiere-Bretelle”; two stripes of lace that covers the
middle of the bosom recalling a pair of male suspenders. This model also boats
a cinematic presence famously worn by Rebecca Romljin Stamos is Brain de
Palma’s film: Femme Fatale”
2002
The La Perla Pret-a-Porter collection makes its debut on the catwalks of Milan
collection with lines for both day and night that carry the same language of
emotions as lingerie
2003
La Perla interprets the new sexual revolution that points to a refined and
playful sense of the erotic by creating the brand La Perla black labels, a
special line of corsetry and “sexy- chic” products.
2004
To celebrate their 50th anniversary, La Perla launches the anniversary limited
edition collection: consisting of the lightest Valencienne lace and created
exclusively for La perla on the ancient looms of caudry
2008
La Perla launches the limited edition Filigree collection, where the art of
filigree becomes the inspiration behind their new example of La Perla –lingerie
.At the head of this collection is bra made with 14 carat fibers from a solid
gold Ingot
Since October 2008 the company has been owned by JH partners a San Francisco
based private equity firm established in 1986 and focused on investments in
growth oriented middle market consumer products with particular emphasis on
luxury brands
