Castañer has always been concerned and actively involved in community issues. Two of the most recent collaborations have been with the Spanish Association against Cancer with the sale of a bag designed exclusively for them. The other collaboration has been with the Barraquer Foundation presenting their solidarity espadrille with the matching handbag, aiming to collect funds for this humanitarian purpose which the Foundation has been carrying out for over 10 years.

The 100% amount of the sale is meant for the Barraquer Foundation, an entity that started 10 years ago has embarked on a total of 49 helping services in different areas of Africa and Asia, with over 3000 surgery operations and 20,000 patient visits.

One of the main materials used in their manufacturing process is "cork", which is employed to produce the wedges. Cork is one of the most environmentally-friendly materials. In the manufacturing of the items they make use of plenty of natural fibres such as jute, cotton, leather and all of them are biodegradable.
