Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla have designed numerous collections and gained immense popularity. Their first collection was in natural fabrics. Some of the collections have been described in brief.
One of their first collections created was the ‘Jashan’ collection which was showcased at a ‘Save the Children’ charity ball fundraiser in London. They created design history with their path-breaking double sari’s and ‘Miniature’ collection, consisting of embroidery in the form of necklaces, which becomes controversial after it was plagiarised by another designer. One of the duo’s most signature collections is ‘Architecture’. Purana Quila – The Mughal era Fort in Delhi was the source of inspiration behind the creation of this collection. Their collection ‘Almost 24’ formed the finale of the FDCI Pearls Delhi Couture Week on 25th July 2010.
Abu and Sandeep designed a special line commemorating the city of Jaipur called ‘The Pink City’ collection, in different hues of pink inspired by the beauty of Jaipur. They also designed and embroidered exquisite art pieces in the form of wall hangings detailing life in Rajasthan. Abhishek Bachchan walked the ramp dressed in a silver and gold ‘Peacock’ sherwani as the finale to ‘The Pink City’ collection.
