Walter Steiger was born on 7th February, 1942 in Geneva. He expressed an interest in art and design at very young age by working close to his father, who was a talented and arched shoemaker.

At a tender age of 20 years he moved to Paris in early 60's, where he started to design his own creations. Amidst the fading era of Parisian Haute Couture, Walter's creative steps evolved as the culture inspired and attracted him. He began to sketch his own designs and was inspired by the creative culture.

Soon after Walter moved to London and was highly influenced by the revolutionary spirit of Swining London. Walter Steiger designed for Mary Quant and had collaborated with Helmut Newton, Lady Rendelsham and Michelangelo Antonioni who chose steiger's shoes as an iconic film "Blow Up". Walter had shaped the philosophy of all his collections with his early experience in Paris and London, from where his style was formed and rooted. In the early 60's, many of his style have the smooth, refined, sophisticated elegance of Paris whereas many styles reflected the modern, minimal, linear fashion of trendy London. It is the combination of elegance and modernity that make each collection unique.

Walter Steiger had worked with some of the most legendary fashion designers such as Ungaro, Nina Ricci, Sonia Rykiel, Maison Chloé, Calvin Klein, Claude Montana, Oscar de la Renta, Kenzo, Alaïa and Karl Lagerfeld.
