The Caberlotto family was the proprietor of the football team 'Treviso'. In 1973, using the last part of their name, they founded the brand Lotto in Montebelluna, northern Italy. It was considered to be the world centre of footwear production. In June 1973, they started as sports footwear manufacturers. Tennis shoes marked the beginning of the brand followed by shoes for basketball, volleyball, athletics and football.
