For S/S 2013 John Smedley offers a range of spring classics and new summer staples. Menswear and womenswear are categorized in to 3 groups: Imperial Kashmir, Classics and Fashion. John Smedley’s Sea Island Cotton takes centre stage once again and is the perfect fibre for fully fashioned summer knitwear.

The Imperial Kashmir collection features cashmere and silk: two of the most luxurious fibres in the world combined intimately to create one of the most luxurious blends. When knitted the result is a beautifully soft and lightweight garment - perfect for summer evenings.

Both the mens and womens Fashion collections range from refined classics to archive-inspired sportswear, accompanied by bold colour combination stripes and classic shades. The addition to Sport of the Jaybird logo on chest for men and hemline tag for women is a brand evolution, motivated by contemporary appeal and inspired by a historical John Smedley icon.

The menswear Fashion collection takes athletic influences and a genteel approach of Ivy League styling. Collar and rib tipping details and cable texture all subtly combine to create a preppy mood with an elegant demeanour.

The womenswear Fashion collection draws inspiration from the beauty of travelling in the 50’s era, with the journey as important as reaching the destination, dressing up an essential part of travel. Cinched in waists on short cardigans with deep ribs make this knitwear perfect to be worn over a dress or as a twin set.

The classics range for men and women showcases the best of John Smedley, incorporating both timeless styles and popular additions. Available in extrafine merino and Sea Island cotton, detail is key, whether the cut and fall of the collar or the feel of a ribbed hem.

The colour palette throughout each group includes a broad spectrum of 25 colours, each carefully researched. Highlights include soft summer pastels; candy, rosebud, eggshell and capri blues. Contrasting deeper marine blues and darker coco browns make for a subtle range.

Exclusively added for menswear, the Signature collection is inspired by John Smedley’s extensive garment archive dating back over 150 years. All six garment styles are available in a vintage colour palette, each featuring a hand applied stamp, as first used 100 years ago. It is a mark of quality and workmanship, applied with pride by craftsmen and women.
