History

1952: Establishment of the Elie Ward Couture House.
In 1952, Elie Ward opened a couture house in the heart of Saint Nicolas area in Beirut.
He started to make women suits, cocktail and evening dresses for the Lebanese High Society.

Known for his refined taste and high-quality tailoring skills, the best dressed women of the capital were ordering gowns made by him for special occasions.

Until now, these women praise his talent; they can still wear the timeless dresses and suits he made for them thanks to the extraordinary quality of the fabrics and craftsmanship.

1989 - 1996: Fashion Studies and Experience
Tony Ward, the son of Elie Ward, was born in the family Couture Atelier. He grew-up in the effervescent world of fashion, surrounded by the most beautiful silks and gowns.

At the age of 18, he travelled to Paris to enroll in the most prestigious Fashion Design school, "L'Ecole de la Chambre Syndicale de la Couture Parisienne".

For several years, he worked in Paris with Gianfranco Ferré at Christian Dior Couture, then with Karl Lagerfeld at Chloé and with Claude Montana at Lanvin, learning from the best designers the secrets of Haute Couture techniques up to the highest standards.

1997: The 1st Collection Under Tony Ward Label.
After seven years of work experience in Paris, Tony Ward came back to his home country and launched his own Couture line.

The talent of the designer, combined with the master craftsmanship of the family Atelier led him create Collections of Haute Couture gowns of exquisite femininity and sophistication.

In recognition of his talent, the very promising young designer was awarded the 1st prize at a design competition and his drawing was exposed at the Musée Galliera (The Fashion Museum of the city of Paris).

2004: 1st Fashion Show at the Alta Moda Fashion Week in Italy.
Selected by the Official Committee of the Italian Fashion Week, he started presenting his Haute Couture Fashion Shows in Rome. Since its first Collection entitled "Eden", his utmost talent was quickly noticed by the Italian and International press, high society and celebrities.

Just one year later, he was named Fashion Designer of the Year and awarded the "L'Ago D'Oro" (Golden Needle) prize in the Italian capital.

2007: Opening of an Exclusive Haute Couture Showroom in Moscow.
Tony Ward Haute Couture Collections are attracting international members of royal families, top celebrities and elegant women looking for uniqueness and refined exclusivity.

The increasing demand for his creations leads to the opening of an exclusive showroom in Moscow. Muscovite VIPs, in search of exceptional gowns, immediately adopted the brand.

2008: Launching the Ready-to-Wear Line.
The brand translated its refined and elegant style into a Luxury Ready-to-wear line. The evening and cocktail gowns, ethereal and precious, are all entirely manufactured in the Couture Ateliers in limited quantities.

These timeless and glamorous collections attracted immediately women in search for unique dresses for special occasions. The brand is now distributed in major boutiques and departments stores worldwide.

2011: Launching the Bridal Line.
The Lebanese designer, known for having dressed many brides with unique Haute Couture wedding gowns, enters the Ready-to-wear Bridal market with an exceptional selection of materials and a delicate choice of details. In his Atelier in Beirut, Tony Ward has brought to reality the dream of purest romance.

He carefully shapes the silhouette of the bride draped with graceful and sinuous light gauzy fabrics such as georgette, organza and tulle. Ward's vision of the bride is that of an ethereal and subtle goddess twirling around the clouds toward her greatest dream.

2013: Inauguration of the New Headquarters in Beirut.
Since 1952, the Couture House was based in its historical location in Saint Nicolas area.

The new Headquarters, situated in the prime location of Hotel Dieu Avenue hosts a Ready-to-wear and Bridal boutique, the Haute Couture salons, the Offices and the Ateliers.
