37a Savile Row becomes home to the first Richard James store. Whilst strongly adhering to the traditional sensibilities of a Savile Row tailor, Richard James introduced the retailer to 'the Row' with the opening of the store on Saturdays. Others have since followed suit.

1993
Due to increased interest overseas, wholesale contracts with Bergdorf Goodman in the US and Beams in Tokyo are secured.

1995
In a ringing endorsement of Savile Row's New Establishment tailors, John Morgan reveals in the Sunday Telegraph that the Queen’s cousin David Linley is measured for his Richard James suits astride his motorcycle. Richard James moves to new, 2,000 square-feet premises at 31 Savile Row. Furthering the pursuit of worldwide notoriety, licensing contracts for bespoke tailoring in Japan are attained.

1996
The first line of accessories is launched. Belts, wallets and cufflinks are typically Richard James in the fusion of classic and contemporary design.

1997
Richard James is heralded as Retailer of the Year with the Eros Award from the Evening Standard. The first luggage and footwear lines are launched in the spring to further critical acclaim. Noel & Liam Gallagher choose to wear Richard James on their respective wedding days and in various Oasis videos.

1998
Dustin Hoffman and Robert DeNiro wear Richard James camouflage suits on the cover of George Magazine. Tom Cruise opts for a bespoke, midnight blue evening suit by Richard James for the Oscars.

1999
Richard James launches 'RJ', its luxury leisurewear collection.

2000
Richard James moves to 29 Savile Row - the largest space on Savile Row becomes the flagship store, studio and showroom.

2001
Richard James receives the coveted Menswear Designer of the Year award from the British Fashion Council. Richard James supplies all the suits for its customer Hugh Grant's wardrobe in the feature film Bridget Jones' Diary. Richard James is awarded the Designer of the Year award at the British GQ Men of the Year awards.

2002
Richard James launches its own fragrance.

2004
Richard James launches its trainers in conjunction with Tretorn - they sell out within hours and are hailed by British Esquire as 'The world's best trainer.' Richard James launches its luxury, limited edition Japanese natural indigo raw denim jeans with selvedge. Richard James is one of the founding members of the Savile Row Bespoke Association, which is formed by Savile Row tailors to promote and protect the traditions of bespoke tailoring on Savile Row.

2005
Richard James launches its own underwear.

2007
Richard James Collection, a new line of four colognes is launched. Richard James opens its Tokyo shop. Richard James opens another shop, Richard James Bespoke, opposite its Savile Row flagship shop, which is dedicated to bespoke tailoring.

2008
Richard James produces a bespoke bicycle in collaboration with British bicycle manufacturers Condor. Richard James is the inaugural winner of the Bespoke Designer of the Year award at the British Fashion Council Awards. Richard James wins British Esquire magazine's Workwear Designer of the Year Award 2008. Richard James wins Best Advertising Campaign Autumn/Winter '07 in the Wallpaper Magazine Design Award

2009
Richard James hosts its first Far East catwalk show in Mumbai, India.

2010
Richard James showcases its Spring/Summer '11 collection with a runway show in London in collaboration with British Esquire magazine.

2011
Richard James produces a capsule collection in collaboration with SpongeBob SquarePants.

2012
Richard James celebrates its twentieth birthday. Richard James shows at London Collections: Men, the British Fashion Council’s inaugural menswear-specific fashion week.
