The design team at UCB is always consistently engaged in researching new materials and creating new lines for different targets from children to adults, offering them not only practical and modern styles but also maximum comfort.

The result is the latest trends in design and a rich output of many models a year which are realized with computer assisted design systems fully integrated with the rest of the company's production phases. The work of the design team begins with research. The designers travel the world capturing new trends and ideas. Following the research process, the themes and look of the collections are designed: color, fabrics and quality materials characterize their apparel and accessories.

While the dyeing area conceives the colors, the product department hand-draws the entire collections, turned into sketches from the most sophisticated graphics programs. Finally, they created the samples utilizing the fabrics selected.  The product department is the link between all the areas involved in the development, manufacture and distribution of their collections. In addition, it cooperates with research centres, universities and laboratories for continuous innovation and the development of new processes.

There is a dual purpose to new product development: to simplify the structure of the collection and the production processes and to accelerate the various operational steps. The goal is to provide an ever improving service to the international network of business partners, contributing to the Group's global growth acceleration. To this end, the agents have also been involved: they have profound market knowledge and are able to interpret the consumer's requirements and expectations. Creativity and product innovation have been included in a planning process that permits the timely capture of seasonal trends and reduces response time to market.
