  • “Make Your Wish” – Christmas with Esprit and Facehunter

    November 2011, Esprit launched this year’s Christmas campaign ‘Make Your Wish’. With the ‘Make Your Wish’ theme, the lifestyle brand is paying homage to its ‘Real People’ campaigns from the 1990’s

    The international lifestyle brand Esprit captured the Christmas spirit in a surprising campaign. The Esprit ‘Make Your Wish’ campaign will depict charismatic people, inspiring styles and very individual wishes.

    The Esprit Image Department developed this campaign in cooperation with Swedish agencies Sandberg & Timonen and Day Stockholm, British fashion photographer Paul Wetherell was behind the camera. As an additional part of the ‘Make Your Wish’ campaign, Esprit will present a one-off online cooperation with iconic photographer and blogger Yvan Rodic, also known as Facehunter.

    Esprit will showcase the ‘Make Your Wish’ campaign with special window displays and POS materials during the whole run-up to Christmas. Media implementation comprises a national TV and online campaign (Germany, France, Belgium, Netherlands, Shanghai and Beijing), as well as eye catching outdoor advertising materials, such as illuminated posters and mega posters. Promotions on Esprit social media platforms and on esprit.com will complete the integrated communication approach.
  • Iconic Styles – the new Esprit campaign

    The Iconic campaign presents a new look and a charismatic face. In line with the new direction of the brand, the look of the campaign focuses more on the product. The substance, variety and quality of the lines form the core of the campaign.

    The various Esprit women’s lines present three modern styles the three Iconic Styles. Depending on the occasion, they can be transformed into a completely new look, either casual, business or glamorous: a camel coat from Esprit Collection, a jacket from the Women Casual line and a pilot style leather jacket from the de.corp range.

    At the heart of the Iconic photo shoot is the Esprit woman a personality with a fresh, individual look. She embodies a friendly and expressive spirit not a girl, but a self-confident and straightforward woman, who is well dressed 24/7.

    Brazilian top model Gisele Bündchen embodies easy elegance, charisma and naturalness and is therefore perfectly suited to the Californian spirit of the Esprit brand. The Iconic Styles are interpreted by renowned stylist Camille Bidault-Waddington. International fashion magazines and top photographers value her coveted and inspiring styling. British fashion photographer David Sims was responsible for shooting the Iconic Styles.

    The playful illustrations throughout this magazine are made by legendary Art director, typographer and designer Kevin Lyons. Kevin’s inspiration for the illustrations came from the concept of wool, responding to the finished designs of the RCA students. Wool yarn balls run wild, puffy sheep Stroll by, smoke snakes wrap, and fluffy monsters poke and pop up from Page to page.

    Kevin’s style is simple and bold with an instantly recognizable youthful wit. Affiliated with the creative expressions of street art such as graffiti, urban Murals, tags, and t–shirts, his work has been published in magazines ranging from thrasher to the face, lowdown to huge and monster children.

    Kevin has had plenty of opportunities to hone his visual communication skills. He was the global creative director for urban outfitters for seven years Prior to that he worked as design director at Stussy.

    He was also the original U.S. art director of Tokion magazine as well as art director of filmmaker spike Jonze’s company, girl skateboards, and a senior designer for Nike. His crazy little monsters have graced hundreds of t-shirts and several Gallery shows from Los Angeles to Paris to Sydney and Tokyo. He has published a bunch of zines featuring his drawings, as well as a 224-page compendium Book of monster drawings, entitled miles runs the voodoo down. Today Kevin is design director and managing partner at NYC ad agency Anomaly and produces a longstanding clothing line under his label Natural born.
