1978

  • Trussardi becomes a lifestyle brand, launching the Inside collection: an exquisite assortment of table and pocket accessories made of briarwood and silver.

1981

  • Trussardi designs a bicycle: an innovative, elegant means of transport.

1982

  • Trussardi launches its first perfume, Trussardi Donna.
  • Trussardi Group works with leading companies around the world, designing the Vip and Noi models for Garelli.

  • Nicola Trussardi establishes Premio Immagine Italia, an award that singles out the finest contributions to the Italian image of quality.

  • Trussardi Group works with leading companies around the world; it oversees the restyling of passenger cabins for the Alitalia fleet (winning the Best of '83 award in New York), and designs a Leyland model for Mini accessorized with leather bags and sophisticated details.

1984

  • Trussardi holds its fashion shows in Milan, presenting the Women's Autumn/Winter collection in Piazza del Duomo (where for the first time, the industry opens its doors to the general public); the first Men's Spring/Summer collection at the Contemporary Art Pavilion; and the Women's Spring/Summer collection at the Milan Triennale.

1985

  • Trussardi holds its fashion shows in Milan, presenting the Men's Autumn/Winter collection at Palazzo della Borsa, the Women's Autumn/Winter collection at the Milano Centrale railway station; the Men's Spring/Summer collection at the San Siro racetrack; and the Women's Spring/Summer collection at Accademia di Brera.
  • Trussardi Group works with leading companies around the world: it oversees the restyling of the '90 Alfa Romeo.

1986

  • In Milan, the Group inaugurates Palatrussardi: a gathering place, open to the entire city, that showcases fashion, music, and entertainment.
  • Trussardi holds its fashion shows in Milan, presenting the Men's Autumn/Winter collection at Piccolo Teatro, with the direction of Giorgio Strehler; the first Men's and Women's Autumn/Winter collection for the new Trussardi Action line at Castello Sforzesco, with the direction of Dario Argento; the Women's Autumn/Winter collection at Teatro Manzoni, with the direction of Gabriele Lavia; the Men's Spring/Summer collection at Palatrussardi, with the direction of Cinzia TH Torrini.
  • Trussardi Group works with leading companies around the world: for Alitalia, it designs the cabins of the airline's Boeing 747s; for Augusta, it oversees the interior styling of the A109 and S61 models, as well as the presidential helicopter; with Pigna, it launches the Trussardi Scribe line of stationary.

  • Trussardi holds its fashion shows in Milan, presenting the Men's Autumn/Winter Trussardi Action collection at Palatrussardi, with the direction of Gino Landi.

1988

  • Trussardi builds its reputation in the field of design, introducing Il Telefono, which wins the Smau Industrial Design Award for innovation.
  • Trussardi Group works with leading companies around the world, designing Alitalia uniforms for staff at the Milan Malpensa and Milan Linate airports.
  • Trussardi designs leisure uniforms for the Italian athletes at the Seoul Olympics.
  • Nicola Trussardi receives the Ambrogino d’Oro award from the City of Milan.

1989

  • Trussardi purchases Hotel Marino Alla Scala in Milan with the intention of turning it into a multifunctional centre, a meeting place for different cultures and identities open to the entire city.
  • The company launches its Trussardi Action fragrance for women.

  • The company launches its Donna Trussardi and Trussardi Action Sport fragrances.
  • Trussardi holds its fashion shows in Milan, presenting the Men's Autumn/Winter collection at Palazzo Orsini, and the Men's Spring/Summer collection at Sotheby’s.
  • Trussardi stages a runway show at the first Donna Sotto LeStelle fashion showcase in Piazza di Spagna, Rome.

  • Trussardi opens boutiques in Taiwan and Taipei.

  • Nicola Trussardi works with director Robert Altman on the film Prêt-à-Porter, in which the designer also appears, playing himself.

  • Trussardi holds its fashion shows in Milan, presenting the Men's Spring/Summer collection at the Milan Conservatory, with the direction of Reiner van Brummelen, and the Men's and Women's T’Store collection at the former Motta factory.
  • Trussardi sponsors the Paganini festival at the Hermitage Theatre in Saint Petersburg.

1996

  • The Group opens Palazzo Trussardi Marino Alla Scala, the new flagship building that presents Trussardi's multifaceted world of excellence. The architectural design is by Pierluigi Cerri, the interior decoration by Ben Van Os and Reiner Van Brummelen. The Art Center mounts the exhibition Picasso – La Collezione Nascosta.
  • Trussardi holds its fashion shows in Milan, presenting its Men's and Women's collections for both seasons at Palazzo Trussardi Marino Alla Scala.
  • Nicola Trussardi receives the Premio Scanno Speciale award from Fondazione Tanturri for his contributions to culture.
    Trussardi sponsors the third Pavarotti & Friends musical benefit.
  • Trussardi throws a giant party in the piazza where it all began: in Bergamo, it designs the costumes for the tableaux-vivants at Teatro Donizetti, directed by Carla Fracci, for Torquato Tasso's representations.

  • Trussardi opens its newly expanded and renovated boutique in Via Sant’Andrea.

  • The Art Center at Palazzo Trussardi Marino Alla Scala presents the exhibitions Dennis Hopper – Italian Walls, Jasper Johns – The Screenprints, Allen Jones – The Catwalk, Up To Date – Film e Video d’artista.

The Women's Spring/Summer collection is designed in collaboration with Philip Treacy, who creates several extraordinary hats for the brand, which are presented in Paris.

2001

  • Café Trussardi opens on the ground floor of Palazzo Marino Alla Scala.

  • For the Salone del Mobile furniture expo, Trussardi presents Home Nesting: fine traditional craftsmanship arrives in downtown Milan.
  • Massimiliano Gioni is appointed Artistic Director of Fondazione Nicola Trussardi, which begins its exploration of Milan's historic spaces and landmarks.

  • Andrea Berton becomes the Executive Chef of Il Ristorante Trussardi Alla Scala, which reopens after major renovations that have transformed it into a groundbreaking venue for international cuisine.
