Japan Fashion Week -2009
Organized by the Japan Fashion Week Organization (JFW Organization) The 8th Japan fashion week which was held during March 23 – march 29 2009 at Tokyo Midlown /Harajuku quest hall and other venues.

JFW Organization aims to further the strengthening of the competitive power of the Japanese textile and fashion industry, and to encourage its growth. Moreover, they further increase Tokyo's reputation as the world's textile and fashion base by promoting excellent Japanese textile and fashion products, and by sending comprehensive information around the world. Furthermore, they aim to enhance Tokyo as the center of fashion business in Asia.

Consolidating the same Endeavour the 8th Japan fashion week attracted a total of 20,410 people from around the globe.The Tokyo collection week alone attracted as many as 15970 people which included 37maisons / 37brands, which showcased the 09-10 autumn/winter collection.Besides the Tokyo fashion week the major attraction of the 8th Japan fashion week was JFW Designers' Exhibition (Exhibition "Luxe by PLUG IN") that attracted 1,520 people and the SHINMAI Creator's Project (Fashion Show / Reception) witnessing 1,320 people.Later the entire event witnessed the presence of 1000 premium people, from all over the globe.

The event was cover by world wide media representatives coming from China, Taiwan, South Korea, Hong Kong, India, Philippines, Thailand, Australia, United States, Italy, Ireland, Czech Republic, France, Spain, Germany, Netherlands, Sweden, Russia which made a total of 218 people in number.

Over cease buyers from China, Hong Kong, India, Brunei, Singapore, UAE, Israel, United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Russia, and France were also present in huge numbers to capture the glimpse of fashion for the coming A/W 09-10 SEASON.

Enhancing the image of Tokyo as the centre of fashion business in Asia, the 8th Japan fashion week was concluded on March 29, 2009.
