Nike | Power Speed Tights

What: Tights for male and female athletes from Nike SS’16 collection

USP: Taking top sprinter English Gardner’s insights as a starting point, Nike designers crafted tights to aid the linear motion of running and the muscles it engages. Designers employed a slim cut to maximise compression provided by a lightweight, high-elastane Dri-FIT fabric that has ample stretch and retraction to smoothly adapt to the runner’s stride.

Notably, enhanced compression along the hip, thigh, calf and Achilles tendon boost muscle control. These compression zones are accentuated by screen-printed graphic lines, inspired by the flow of a track, that visually enhance the natural beauty of the athlete in motion.

Designers also solved for the needs of elite and everyday runners by adding an encased drawcord at the waist for a personalised fit, reflective details for low-light conditions and bonded ankle zips for easy on and off. A vapor-lined pocket for phones or keys sits on the back hip for men and at the center back for women.

La Martina | Cortos

What: Shoes for men

USP: For the first time, the tale of the well-known 19th century novel by Edmondo De Amicis is turned on its head to become the Andes that comes to the Appenines, in the Marche Italian region, where Cortos are made. All the “Made in Italy” quality is apparent in the expert workmanship of the leather, the stitching and the detail, making the Cortos a ‘must have’ in its third successful season.

Leather and other materials are given a scratched effect both on the upper and the sole, giving the boot a ‘lived in’ look, conducive to modern, urban lifestyle chic. The new-look tongue, with branded logo stamp, juts out visibly from the front of the boot.
