Pal Zileri Concept collection Fall Winter 2013/14

The Concept collection, Fall Winter 2013/14 draws on the elegance of the 1930s, proposing a sartorial look even for the more informal garments. The sleeve units proposed include Shearling Canadian jackets, short quilted Nubuck coats, or sports jackets with Prince of Wales check woollen fabrics combined again with Nubuck. Consistently, in the knits the return of multi-coloured jacquard in Yak and Mohair are seen, while the shirts have strong checks, colours or prints inspired by the ties.

In the trousers, the iconic role is once again interpreted by the Chinos and 5-pocket models with updated fabrics: check cotton and wool, hand sprayed, and wools with vintage-effect micro patterns. The short jacket collection has been innovated, with the addition of two heavy merino wool garments, both with an original mix of qualities. The first model is a long jacket with frog closures, patch pockets and a hood decorated with fur edging, while the second is a bomber jacket with pockets, fully lined with fabrics for menswear in cashmere wool and curly sheepskin applied to the inside collar. In the sportswear, nylon stretch fabrics reproduce a wool look, while the Duffle Coat has been reinterpreted with a knit-effect technical material.

LAB Collection for Fall/Winter 2013/14

Urban conceptual / essential lines, precious materials and soft treatments are the guidelines that inspire the lab collection for Fall/Winter 2013/14. A sophisticated play of syntheses, in which the suits have silhouettes with limited volumes, jackets are short with extra-small lapels and trousers are straight legged. The casual range is characterized by sleeve units with a straight silhouette, straight leg trousers and knits combined with extra-long shirts. The dominant colours are inspired by the works of Gerard Richter and the textures of Pierre Soulages. The collection is structured in three themes:

4EVERBLACK: Shades of black with different luminosities, interpreted by different materials: sporty fabrics combined with wool and shiny nylon, matte horsehide, knits in mélange kid mohair, semi-matte Japanese polyester and matte stretch nylon and finally, a long biker’s jacket in matte nappa leather. The shirt collection plays with volumes and lengths, some following fashion trends with extra-long lengths, so essential that even the collars have been eliminated, and others slim with Italian sartorial style, tight fitting and with collars of various types. The fabrics of the sports trousers experiment with leather effect treatments, dark dyes on velvet and weaves that offer sophisticated mélanges in new ultra-slim fits.

BLUE’S PHILOSOPHY: The colours of this mood are navy blue mixed with anthracite grey and wine. The choice of precious materials in the sportswear is interpreted by garment-dyed wool, mixed with nylon, or lined with fur, while the padded jackets offer printed and sprayed fabrics, with elegant camouflage and fume madras check patterns. The textiles of the sleeve units are mélange or mixed in merging checks, with soft, silky handles. The bouclé and nep knits offer hints of claret or anthracite grey in the yarns, which range from merino to cashmere. The shirts mix new stretch mélanges with blue, to give luminosity to the collection. The midnight and cobalt blue denim chooses essentiality, with dark seams. Treatments are limited to slight sanding and hints of vintage textures, which enliven faded prints in true LAB style. Finally, the look is completed by sprayed gabardine wool trousers, strictly straight legged.

UNDERWOOD: Moss green, aubergine, chocolate brown and dove grey, anthracite greys and mélanges are blended and mixed in this mood, which proposes treatments and nuances with balanced elegance. The sportswear is sophisticated, decisive and slightly “rock ‘n’ roll”, using leather mixed with cloth, or knits. The nylon is illuminated with yarn-dyed weaves in shades of dark green and aubergine. The soft wools of the sports chinos are sprayed and printed to create mélange effects, to coordinate with jacquard knits. Shirts are dyed with graduated colours only visible at the sleeve ends and shirt bottoms. Fun and unexpected print mixes can be found on the gabardines of the 5-pocket models and of the most original chinos, while the scarves have printed or faded photos.
