Dorothy Perkins was one of the first big companies to understand the power of celebrity advertising. Supermodels Helena Christensen and Yasmin Le Bon have sprinkled their magic and have both been the face of Dorothy Perkins, and more recently the brilliant Gok Wan fronted a media campaign designed to offer Dorothy Perkins customers’ style and body shape advice.

Dorothy Perkins Spring Summer 2013 Advertising Campaign

Spring Summer 2013 at Dorothy Perkins embraces three key looks showcasing - sporty, graphic daywear, soft, pretty occasionwear and vintage western casualwear - with trend influences from across the globe. The sports luxe trend is revived with geometric prints and a bold colour palette. Clean and crisp lines and minimalistic shapes are key, with loose fitting tees paired with sharp tailored pieces in hues of turquoise, blue and white. The bomber jacket and tailored jogging pant are must haves - whether in a block colour or printed. Stand out in the Dorothy Perkins dress of the season - a geometric print, body contouring dress - designed to accentuate shape.

Beautiful texture is the key with combinations of broderie, lace, appliqué, jacquard and sheers. Fresh whites mix with pretty pastels and prints are hand drawn and delicate to create a ladylike chic look. The tailored skirt and trouser suit gets an update, and full skirts with clean shell tops create a flirty, feminine silhouette. Western and ethnic influences combine for a relaxed, easy to wear casual collection. Landscape, feather, tile and snake prints are mixed with washed cotton lace and denim. The black, white, khaki and neutral palette receives an injection of colour with pops of red, tangerine and soft corals. Floaty maxi dresses and tunic tops make for the ideal weekend style fix whilst denim gets an update with Navajo inspired prints and embellishment. Footwear embraces the Western trend with fringed sandals and studded courts.

Dorothy Perkins Autumn Winter 2013 Advertising Campaign

This autumn / winter Dorothy Perkins showcases three key looks: modern and cleancut daywear, opulent, embellished casualwear and statement eveningwear. Daywear is kept simple with clean lines and classic shapes. A-line and pencil skirts teamed with boxy jackets and bombers are key and tailored pieces are paired with crisp shirts for a smart look. Window-pane check and geometric prints are worn together for a sleek take on the head-to-toe print trend, while monochrome combines with hues of colbalt blue, burgundy and brilliant white to create a simple colour palette. Oversized totes and structured bowler bags finish the look.

For casualwear cozy knits are mixed with winter whites. Simple knits in neutral tones are given an update with embellishment and military-style motifs while silhouettes are kept lady-like with full a-line skirts. The long line biker jacket and fur bomber are this season's outerwear must-haves and footwear classics like the biker boot and slingback heel get a sports luxe makeover in chalk white and nude. Occasionwear embraces all things textured as faux-furs are layered with PU, sequins, lace, jacquard and metallics. Animal print and monochrome combine to create the palette for this collection. The quilted PU bomber makes for the ultimate transitional wardrobe staple while the prom dress gets an update in gold jacquard for a glamorous evening look with a twist.
