DKNY has created a limited capsule collection of re-issued iconic pieces from the early 90s in collaboration with Opening Ceremony. This selection captures the essence of DKNY at the time when the brand exploded onto the scene. Definitive styles from the era appear in the collection, including body conscious silhouettes, boldly branded sportswear and New York landscape printed streetwear.

The limited edition capsule of re-issued archival runway styles includes unisex tees and hoodies as well as women's dresses, bodysuits, and a jacket. The signature items re-issued from the DKNY archives include:

From 1991: A cropped puffer jacket, logo tee, logo bodysuit, hooded logo sweatshirt, branded leggings and hooded zip front jumpsuit.

From 1992: A New York skyline tee.

From 1994: A cropped hooded logo sweatshirt, a hooded logo maxi dress, maxi skirt, colorblocked zip front jumpsuit and maxi dress.

Pre - Fall 2013

DKNY served up stripes in spades for pre-fall. Whether horizontal on a casual jersey tank dress or zigzagging up and down in a chevron pattern on a flared skirt, the graphic lines tapped into the collection's "beach to street" theme. Each look of the collection was styled with leather gladiator sandals that buckled all the way up to the knee. Silk separates in saturated hues like punch pink and cerulean had a pajama like ease. A slinky sleeveless dress in an abstract animal print reminiscent of camouflage had more of the city grit that is most relevant to DKNY's DNA.

DKNY dresses in classic shapes are structured yet drape to flatter the body. The collection includes looks like a rolled-down chambray jumpsuit tied around the waist styled with a silk button-up, and a coated-cotton blazer paired with distressed denim Bermuda shorts. Leather-trim circle skirts cut from spongy coated mesh, oversize color-blocked car coats, and neoprene-jersey racerback gowns nicely balance femininity with urban athleticism in this collection. Meanwhile, accessories including baseball caps, leather knapsacks, fanny packs, and wedge sneakers played a key role in putting the NY back in DKNY.

Resort - 2013

The Resort collection has a softer approach to the skin due to the inclusion of motorcycle jackets and pencil skirts in pastel shades of lemon and ballet pink. With its monochromatic color scheme, a cropped bomber, tunic, and tapered pants combo look particularly on trend. As is expected of Donna Karan's younger line, plenty of flirtatiousness is observed in the collection. A sheer black party frock with tiers of feathers and lace and a bedazzled neckline requires no jewellery. A chiffon shirtdress with accordion pleats at the skirt had a sweet trompe l'oeil lace print. Also includes a zebra trumpet skirt paired with a matching silk color-blocked button-up. A pair of high-waisted trousers with a satin, cummerbund-like roll-down detail is perfect for formal attire.
